Tranquillity RCD has worked for three years to develop a program focused specifically on the needs of rural farming communities on the west side of Fresno County.  The majority of these communities are classified by the state of California as Disadvantaged Unincorporated Communities or otherwise known as DUC's.  Thanks to the California Strategic Growth Council funding this district as the first ever to be awarded a Transformative Climate Communities (TCC) for an unincorporated region.

Tranquillity RCD is pleased to announce that the non-profit community services organization Rising Sun - Center for Opportunity and a TCC recipient has selected the agency as a partner to perform community outreach under their Climate Careers Externship Program.  The two organizations led by Alexis Valadez with TRCD and a resident of the City of San Joaquin will be working together to develop a district-wide community betterment program for tranditionally underserved farming communities.  This is the district's first joint community outreach and betterment program that has been initiated with the goal of it becoming permanent.
